Mechanical Requirements - Above Ground Swimming Pools
Mechanical requirements - Above ground pools employ a modest circulation system which often does not include any element for heating the pool water. The pump will usually be a 1/4 to 1/2 HP pool pump which has a cord end that plugs into an existing GFIC protect 110 volt dedicated circuit.
The filter will either be a low end paper filter which will need replacement often, or possibly a silica sand filter similar to those used in more robust swimming pools. Heating for an above ground pool is almost not required in many climates as the water will warm up naturally from the sun. The addition of a small solar heater will dramatically increase the temperature of the water.
Most every above ground swimming pool has mechanical options which you can add to your circulation system such as chlorinators, salt water generators, heaters and more. Depending on your budget these additionally items are not required in order for the pool to operate correctly, but can increase the quality of your swimming environment as well as reduce time required for periodic maintenance of your pool.
