Design Disadvantages - In Ground Vinyl Liner Swimming Pools

The disadvantages of in ground vinyl liner pools boils down to limitations of design and resistance to damage of the vinyl liner. Since vinyl liner pools come available in kits, there are only so many size and shape options to choose from unlike freeform concrete pools.

The liner can be punctured easily and it can be very difficult to locate and repair a small hole in the liner which can be a disadvantage of the pool. A vinyl liner pool has been compared to "looking cheap" by comparison to concrete pools and even fibreglass pools but rarely do vinyl pool owners complain about the look of the pool. Though concrete pools have a certain elegance about them that all other pools strive to have, vinyl liner pools perform as advertised and at a more affordable rate than other pool options.
