Fibreglass and resin based swimming pools are a relative newcomer to the pool market by comparison to concrete and vinyl liner swimming pool installations. The concept is that the pool is created from a single plastic mould and is installed as one cohesive element. This differs from both vinyl liner and concrete pools where by the pool is built on site using various parts, pieces and materials.



The cost of prefabricated fibreglass and plastic resin swimming pools is similar to in ground concrete swimming pools. Marginally higher in cost than in ground vinyl liner pools, a fibreglass pool installation will cost $40,000 to $50,000 for a basic installation and as much as $100,000 for a robust installation with multiple upgrades to the pool and equipment. A large portion of the cost of fibreglass pools is the pool shell itself.
